Church

Mat_16:18  And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Mat_18:17  If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Act_5:11  Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events.

Act_8:1  And Saul approved of their killing him. On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

Act_8:3  But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.

Act_9:31  Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Act_11:22  News of this reached the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch.

Act_11:26  and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

Act_12:1  It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them.

Act_12:5  So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

Act_13:1  Now in the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul.

Act_14:23  Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust.

Act_14:27  On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

Act_15:3  The church sent them on their way, and as they traveled through Phoenicia and Samaria, they told how the Gentiles had been converted. This news made all the believers very glad.

Act_15:4  When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and elders, to whom they reported everything God had done through them.

Act_15:22  Then the apostles and elders, with the whole church, decided to choose some of their own men and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas. They chose Judas (called Barsabbas) and Silas, men who were leaders among the believers.

Act_15:30  So the men were sent off and went down to Antioch, where they gathered the church together and delivered the letter.

Act_18:22  When he landed at Caesarea, he went up to Jerusalem and greeted the church and then went down to Antioch.

Act_20:17  From Miletus, Paul sent to Ephesus for the elders of the church.

Act_20:28  Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.

Rom_16:1  I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae.

Rom_16:5  Greet also the church that meets at their house. Greet my dear friend Epenetus, who was the first convert to Christ in the province of Asia.

Rom_16:23  Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city's director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings.

1Co_1:2  To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours:

1Co_4:17  For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1Co_5:12  What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside?

1Co_6:4  Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, do you ask for a ruling from those whose way of life is scorned in the church?

1Co_10:32  Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God--

1Co_11:18  In the first place, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and to some extent I believe it.

1Co_11:22  Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God by humiliating those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? Certainly not in this matter!

1Co_12:28  And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.

1Co_14:4  Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.

1Co_14:5  I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be edified.

1Co_14:12  So it is with you. Since you are eager for gifts of the Spirit, try to excel in those that build up the church.

1Co_14:19  But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

1Co_14:23  So if the whole church comes together and everyone speaks in tongues, and inquirers or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?

1Co_14:26  What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.

1Co_14:28  If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

1Co_14:35  If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church.

1Co_15:9  For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

1Co_16:19  The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Priscilla greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house.

2Co_1:1  Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God in Corinth, together with all his holy people throughout Achaia:

Gal_1:13  For you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it.

Eph_1:22  And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church,

Eph_3:10  His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,

Eph_3:21  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

Eph_5:23  For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

Eph_5:24  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Eph_5:25  Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her

Eph_5:27  and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Eph_5:29  After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church--

Eph_5:32  This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.

Php_3:6  as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.

Php_4:15  Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;

Col_1:18  And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

Col_1:24  Now I rejoice in what I am suffering for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ's afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.

Col_4:15  Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house.

Col_4:16  After this letter has been read to you, see that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans and that you in turn read the letter from Laodicea.

1Th_1:1  Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace and peace to you.

2Th_1:1  Paul, Silas and Timothy, To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:

1Ti_3:5  (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God's church?)

1Ti_3:15  if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God's household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

1Ti_5:16  If any woman who is a believer has widows in her care, she should continue to help them and not let the church be burdened with them, so that the church can help those widows who are really in need.

1Ti_5:17  The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

Phm_1:2  also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier--and to the church that meets in your home:

Heb_12:23  to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,

Jas_5:14  Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.

3Jn_1:6  They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God.

3Jn_1:9  I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.

3Jn_1:10  So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church.

Rev_2:1  "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands.

Rev_2:8  "To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.

Rev_2:12  "To the angel of the church in Pergamum write: These are the words of him who has the sharp, double-edged sword.

Rev_2:18  "To the angel of the church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze.

Rev_3:1  "To the angel of the church in Sardis write: These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

Rev_3:7  "To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.

Rev_3:14  "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.
