Parable

Psa_78:2  I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter hidden things, things from of old--

Eze_17:2  "Son of man, set forth an allegory and tell it to the Israelites as a parable.

Eze_24:3  Tell this rebellious people a parable and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: "'Put on the cooking pot; put it on and pour water into it.

Mat_13:24  Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.

Mat_13:31  He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.

Mat_13:33  He told them still another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough."

Mat_13:34  Jesus spoke all these things to the crowd in parables; he did not say anything to them without using a parable.

Mat_13:36  Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."

Mat_15:15  Peter said, "Explain the parable to us."

Mar_7:17  After he had left the crowd and entered the house, his disciples asked him about this parable.

Mar_12:12  Then the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the elders looked for a way to arrest him because they knew he had spoken the parable against them. But they were afraid of the crowd; so they left him and went away.

Luk_5:36  He told them this parable: "No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one. Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment, and the patch from the new will not match the old.

Luk_6:39  He also told them this parable: "Can the blind lead the blind? Will they not both fall into a pit?

Luk_8:4  While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable:

Luk_8:9  His disciples asked him what this parable meant.

Luk_8:11  "This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God.

Luk_12:16  And he told them this parable: "The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.

Luk_12:41  Peter asked, "Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everyone?"

Luk_13:6  Then he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any.

Luk_14:7  When he noticed how the guests picked the places of honor at the table, he told them this parable:

Luk_15:3  Then Jesus told them this parable:

Luk_18:1  Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.

Luk_18:9  To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:

Luk_19:11  While they were listening to this, he went on to tell them a parable, because he was near Jerusalem and the people thought that the kingdom of God was going to appear at once.

Luk_20:9  He went on to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, rented it to some farmers and went away for a long time.

Luk_20:19  The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

Luk_21:29  He told them this parable: "Look at the fig tree and all the trees.
