Prophets

Num_11:29  But Moses replied, "Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all the LORD's people were prophets and that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!"

1Sa_10:5  "After that you will go to Gibeah of God, where there is a Philistine outpost. As you approach the town, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place with lyres, timbrels, pipes and harps being played before them, and they will be prophesying.

1Sa_10:10  When he and his servant arrived at Gibeah, a procession of prophets met him; the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he joined in their prophesying.

1Sa_10:11  When all those who had formerly known him saw him prophesying with the prophets, they asked each other, "What is this that has happened to the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?"

1Sa_10:12  A man who lived there answered, "And who is their father?" So it became a saying: "Is Saul also among the prophets?"

1Sa_19:20  so he sent men to capture him. But when they saw a group of prophets prophesying, with Samuel standing there as their leader, the Spirit of God came on Saul's men, and they also prophesied.

1Sa_19:24  He stripped off his garments, and he too prophesied in Samuel's presence. He lay naked all that day and all that night. This is why people say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?"

1Sa_28:6  He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.

1Sa_28:15  Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has departed from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."

1Ki_18:4  While Jezebel was killing off the LORD's prophets, Obadiah had taken a hundred prophets and hidden them in two caves, fifty in each, and had supplied them with food and water.)

1Ki_18:13  Haven't you heard, my lord, what I did while Jezebel was killing the prophets of the LORD? I hid a hundred of the LORD's prophets in two caves, fifty in each, and supplied them with food and water.

1Ki_18:19  Now summon the people from all over Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel. And bring the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel's table."

1Ki_18:20  So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel.

1Ki_18:22  Then Elijah said to them, "I am the only one of the LORD's prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.

1Ki_18:23  Get two bulls for us. Let Baal's prophets choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.

1Ki_18:25  Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, "Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire."

1Ki_18:40  Then Elijah commanded them, "Seize the prophets of Baal. Don't let anyone get away!" They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.

1Ki_19:1  Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.

1Ki_19:10  He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

1Ki_19:14  He replied, "I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too."

1Ki_20:35  By the word of the LORD one of the company of the prophets said to his companion, "Strike me with your weapon," but he refused.

1Ki_20:41  Then the prophet quickly removed the headband from his eyes, and the king of Israel recognized him as one of the prophets.

1Ki_22:6  So the king of Israel brought together the prophets--about four hundred men--and asked them, "Shall I go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I refrain?" "Go," they answered, "for the Lord will give it into the king's hand."

1Ki_22:10  Dressed in their royal robes, the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting on their thrones at the threshing floor by the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them.

1Ki_22:12  All the other prophets were prophesying the same thing. "Attack Ramoth Gilead and be victorious," they said, "for the LORD will give it into the king's hand."

1Ki_22:13  The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, "Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably."

1Ki_22:22  "'By what means?' the LORD asked. "'I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,' he said. "'You will succeed in enticing him,' said the LORD. 'Go and do it.'

1Ki_22:23  "So now the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you."

2Ki_2:3  The company of the prophets at Bethel came out to Elisha and asked, "Do you know that the LORD is going to take your master from you today?" "Yes, I know," Elisha replied, "so be quiet."

2Ki_2:5  The company of the prophets at Jericho went up to Elisha and asked him, "Do you know that the LORD is going to take your master from you today?" "Yes, I know," he replied, "so be quiet."

2Ki_2:7  Fifty men from the company of the prophets went and stood at a distance, facing the place where Elijah and Elisha had stopped at the Jordan.

2Ki_2:15  The company of the prophets from Jericho, who were watching, said, "The spirit of Elijah is resting on Elisha." And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.

2Ki_3:13  Elisha said to the king of Israel, "Why do you want to involve me? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother." "No," the king of Israel answered, "because it was the LORD who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab."

2Ki_4:1  The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, "Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves."

2Ki_4:38  Elisha returned to Gilgal and there was a famine in that region. While the company of the prophets was meeting with him, he said to his servant, "Put on the large pot and cook some stew for these prophets."

2Ki_5:22  "Everything is all right," Gehazi answered. "My master sent me to say, 'Two young men from the company of the prophets have just come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two sets of clothing.'"

2Ki_6:1  The company of the prophets said to Elisha, "Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us.

2Ki_9:1  The prophet Elisha summoned a man from the company of the prophets and said to him, "Tuck your cloak into your belt, take this flask of olive oil with you and go to Ramoth Gilead.

2Ki_9:7  You are to destroy the house of Ahab your master, and I will avenge the blood of my servants the prophets and the blood of all the LORD's servants shed by Jezebel.

2Ki_10:19  Now summon all the prophets of Baal, all his servants and all his priests. See that no one is missing, because I am going to hold a great sacrifice for Baal. Anyone who fails to come will no longer live." But Jehu was acting deceptively in order to destroy the servants of Baal.

2Ki_17:13  The LORD warned Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers: "Turn from your evil ways. Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your ancestors to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets."

2Ki_17:23  until the LORD removed them from his presence, as he had warned through all his servants the prophets. So the people of Israel were taken from their homeland into exile in Assyria, and they are still there.

2Ki_21:10  The LORD said through his servants the prophets:

2Ki_23:2  He went up to the temple of the LORD with the people of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests and the prophets--all the people from the least to the greatest. He read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant, which had been found in the temple of the LORD.

2Ki_24:2  The LORD sent Babylonian, Aramean, Moabite and Ammonite raiders against him to destroy Judah, in accordance with the word of the LORD proclaimed by his servants the prophets.

1Ch_16:22  "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."

2Ch_18:5  So the king of Israel brought together the prophets--four hundred men--and asked them, "Shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall I not?" "Go," they answered, "for God will give it into the king's hand."

2Ch_18:9  Dressed in their royal robes, the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah were sitting on their thrones at the threshing floor by the entrance of the gate of Samaria, with all the prophets prophesying before them.

2Ch_18:11  All the other prophets were prophesying the same thing. "Attack Ramoth Gilead and be victorious," they said, "for the LORD will give it into the king's hand."

2Ch_18:12  The messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah said to him, "Look, the other prophets without exception are predicting success for the king. Let your word agree with theirs, and speak favorably."

2Ch_18:21  "'I will go and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,' he said. "'You will succeed in enticing him,' said the LORD. 'Go and do it.'

2Ch_18:22  "So now the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you."

2Ch_20:20  Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, "Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the LORD your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful."

2Ch_24:19  Although the LORD sent prophets to the people to bring them back to him, and though they testified against them, they would not listen.

2Ch_29:25  He stationed the Levites in the temple of the LORD with cymbals, harps and lyres in the way prescribed by David and Gad the king's seer and Nathan the prophet; this was commanded by the LORD through his prophets.

2Ch_36:16  But they mocked God's messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy.

Ezr_5:2  Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Ezr_9:11  you gave through your servants the prophets when you said: 'The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other.

Neh_6:7  and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem: 'There is a king in Judah!' Now this report will get back to the king; so come, let us meet together."

Neh_6:14  Remember Tobiah and Sanballat, my God, because of what they have done; remember also the prophet Noadiah and how she and the rest of the prophets have been trying to intimidate me.

Neh_9:26  "But they were disobedient and rebelled against you; they turned their backs on your law. They killed your prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to you; they committed awful blasphemies.

Neh_9:30  For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.

Neh_9:32  "Now therefore, our God, the great God, mighty and awesome, who keeps his covenant of love, do not let all this hardship seem trifling in your eyes--the hardship that has come on us, on our kings and leaders, on our priests and prophets, on our ancestors and all your people, from the days of the kings of Assyria until today.

Psa_74:9  We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.

Psa_105:15  "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm."

Isa_9:15  the elders and dignitaries are the head, the prophets who teach lies are the tail.

Isa_28:7  And these also stagger from wine and reel from beer: Priests and prophets stagger from beer and are befuddled with wine; they reel from beer, they stagger when seeing visions, they stumble when rendering decisions.

Isa_29:10  The LORD has brought over you a deep sleep: He has sealed your eyes (the prophets); he has covered your heads (the seers).

Isa_30:10  They say to the seers, "See no more visions!" and to the prophets, "Give us no more visions of what is right! Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.

Isa_44:25  who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense,

Jer_2:8  The priests did not ask, 'Where is the LORD?' Those who deal with the law did not know me; the leaders rebelled against me. The prophets prophesied by Baal, following worthless idols.

Jer_2:26  "As a thief is disgraced when he is caught, so the people of Israel are disgraced-- they, their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets.

Jer_2:30  "In vain I punished your people; they did not respond to correction. Your sword has devoured your prophets like a ravenous lion.

Jer_4:9  "In that day," declares the LORD, "the king and the officials will lose heart, the priests will be horrified, and the prophets will be appalled."

Jer_5:13  The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them; so let what they say be done to them."

Jer_5:31  The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority, and my people love it this way. But what will you do in the end?

Jer_6:13  "From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit.

Jer_7:25  From the time your ancestors left Egypt until now, day after day, again and again I sent you my servants the prophets.

Jer_8:1  "'At that time, declares the LORD, the bones of the kings and officials of Judah, the bones of the priests and prophets, and the bones of the people of Jerusalem will be removed from their graves.

Jer_8:10  Therefore I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. From the least to the greatest, all are greedy for gain; prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit.

Jer_13:13  then tell them, 'This is what the LORD says: I am going to fill with drunkenness all who live in this land, including the kings who sit on David's throne, the priests, the prophets and all those living in Jerusalem.

Jer_14:13  But I said, "Alas, Sovereign LORD! The prophets keep telling them, 'You will not see the sword or suffer famine. Indeed, I will give you lasting peace in this place.'"

Jer_14:14  Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds.

Jer_14:15  Therefore this is what the LORD says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, 'No sword or famine will touch this land.' Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine.

Jer_18:18  They said, "Come, let's make plans against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophets. So come, let's attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says."

Jer_23:9  Concerning the prophets: My heart is broken within me; all my bones tremble. I am like a drunken man, like a strong man overcome by wine, because of the LORD and his holy words.

Jer_23:10  The land is full of adulterers; because of the curse the land lies parched and the pastures in the wilderness are withered. The prophets follow an evil course and use their power unjustly.

Jer_23:13  "Among the prophets of Samaria I saw this repulsive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.

Jer_23:14  And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that not one of them turns from their wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah."

Jer_23:15  Therefore this is what the LORD Almighty says concerning the prophets: "I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land."

Jer_23:16  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD.

Jer_23:21  I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied.

Jer_23:25  "I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!'

Jer_23:26  How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?

Jer_23:30  "Therefore," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me.

Jer_23:31  Yes," declares the LORD, "I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare, 'The LORD declares.'

Jer_25:4  And though the LORD has sent all his servants the prophets to you again and again, you have not listened or paid any attention.

Jer_26:5  and if you do not listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I have sent to you again and again (though you have not listened),

Jer_26:7  The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the LORD.

Jer_26:8  But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the LORD had commanded him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized him and said, "You must die!

Jer_26:11  Then the priests and the prophets said to the officials and all the people, "This man should be sentenced to death because he has prophesied against this city. You have heard it with your own ears!"

Jer_26:16  Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and the prophets, "This man should not be sentenced to death! He has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God."

Jer_27:9  So do not listen to your prophets, your diviners, your interpreters of dreams, your mediums or your sorcerers who tell you, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon.'

Jer_27:14  Do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you, 'You will not serve the king of Babylon,' for they are prophesying lies to you.

Jer_27:15  'I have not sent them,' declares the LORD. 'They are prophesying lies in my name. Therefore, I will banish you and you will perish, both you and the prophets who prophesy to you.'"

Jer_27:16  Then I said to the priests and all these people, "This is what the LORD says: Do not listen to the prophets who say, 'Very soon now the articles from the LORD's house will be brought back from Babylon.' They are prophesying lies to you.

Jer_27:18  If they are prophets and have the word of the LORD, let them plead with the LORD Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the LORD and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon.

Jer_28:8  From early times the prophets who preceded you and me have prophesied war, disaster and plague against many countries and great kingdoms.

Jer_29:1  This is the text of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders among the exiles and to the priests, the prophets and all the other people Nebuchadnezzar had carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Jer_29:8  Yes, this is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: "Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have.

Jer_29:15  You may say, "The LORD has raised up prophets for us in Babylon,"

Jer_29:19  For they have not listened to my words," declares the LORD, "words that I sent to them again and again by my servants the prophets. And you exiles have not listened either," declares the LORD.

Jer_32:32  The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil they have done--they, their kings and officials, their priests and prophets, the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem.

Jer_35:15  Again and again I sent all my servants the prophets to you. They said, "Each of you must turn from your wicked ways and reform your actions; do not follow other gods to serve them. Then you will live in the land I have given to you and your ancestors." But you have not paid attention or listened to me.

Jer_37:19  Where are your prophets who prophesied to you, 'The king of Babylon will not attack you or this land'?

Jer_44:4  Again and again I sent my servants the prophets, who said, 'Do not do this detestable thing that I hate!'

Jer_50:36  A sword against her false prophets! They will become fools. A sword against her warriors! They will be filled with terror.

Lam_2:9  Her gates have sunk into the ground; their bars he has broken and destroyed. Her king and her princes are exiled among the nations, the law is no more, and her prophets no longer find visions from the LORD.

Lam_2:14  The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The prophecies they gave you were false and misleading.

Lam_4:13  But it happened because of the sins of her prophets and the iniquities of her priests, who shed within her the blood of the righteous.

Eze_13:2  "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: 'Hear the word of the LORD!

Eze_13:3  This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

Eze_13:4  Your prophets, Israel, are like jackals among ruins.

Eze_13:9  My hand will be against the prophets who see false visions and utter lying divinations. They will not belong to the council of my people or be listed in the records of Israel, nor will they enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Sovereign LORD.

Eze_13:16  those prophets of Israel who prophesied to Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her when there was no peace, declares the Sovereign LORD."'

Eze_22:28  Her prophets whitewash these deeds for them by false visions and lying divinations. They say, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says'--when the LORD has not spoken.

Eze_38:17  "'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: You are the one I spoke of in former days by my servants the prophets of Israel. At that time they prophesied for years that I would bring you against them.

Dan_9:6  We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land.

Dan_9:10  we have not obeyed the LORD our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets.

Hos_4:5  You stumble day and night, and the prophets stumble with you. So I will destroy your mother--

Hos_6:5  Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth-- then my judgments go forth like the sun.

Hos_11:6  A sword will flash in their cities; it will devour their false prophets and put an end to their plans.

Hos_12:10  I spoke to the prophets, gave them many visions and told parables through them."

Amo_2:11  "I also raised up prophets from among your children and Nazirites from among your youths. Is this not true, people of Israel?" declares the LORD.

Amo_2:12  "But you made the Nazirites drink wine and commanded the prophets not to prophesy.

Amo_3:7  Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.

Mic_2:6  "Do not prophesy," their prophets say. "Do not prophesy about these things; disgrace will not overtake us."

Mic_3:5  This is what the LORD says: "As for the prophets who lead my people astray, they proclaim 'peace' if they have something to eat, but prepare to wage war against anyone who refuses to feed them.

Mic_3:6  Therefore night will come over you, without visions, and darkness, without divination. The sun will set for the prophets, and the day will go dark for them.

Mic_3:11  Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look for the LORD's support and say, "Is not the LORD among us? No disaster will come upon us."

Zep_3:4  Her prophets are unprincipled; they are treacherous people. Her priests profane the sanctuary and do violence to the law.

Zec_1:4  Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.' But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the LORD.

Zec_1:5  Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever?

Zec_1:6  But did not my words and my decrees, which I commanded my servants the prophets, overtake your ancestors? "Then they repented and said, 'The LORD Almighty has done to us what our ways and practices deserve, just as he determined to do.'"

Zec_7:3  by asking the priests of the house of the LORD Almighty and the prophets, "Should I mourn and fast in the fifth month, as I have done for so many years?"

Zec_7:7  Are these not the words the LORD proclaimed through the earlier prophets when Jerusalem and its surrounding towns were at rest and prosperous, and the Negev and the western foothills were settled?'"

Zec_7:12  They made their hearts as hard as flint and would not listen to the law or to the words that the LORD Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets. So the LORD Almighty was very angry.

Zec_8:9  This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Now hear these words, 'Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.' This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD Almighty.

Zec_13:2  "On that day, I will banish the names of the idols from the land, and they will be remembered no more," declares the LORD Almighty. "I will remove both the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land.

Mat_2:23  and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.

Mat_5:12  Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Mat_5:17  "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

Mat_7:12  So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Mat_7:15  "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Mat_11:13  For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.

Mat_13:17  For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.

Mat_16:14  They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets."

Mat_22:40  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Mat_23:29  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous.

Mat_23:30  And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'

Mat_23:31  So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets.

Mat_23:34  Therefore I am sending you prophets and sages and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town.

Mat_23:37  "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

Mat_24:11  and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

Mat_24:24  For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Mat_26:56  But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.

Mar_6:15  Others said, "He is Elijah." And still others claimed, "He is a prophet, like one of the prophets of long ago."

Mar_8:28  They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of the prophets."

Mar_13:22  For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Luk_1:70  (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),

Luk_6:23  "Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.

Luk_6:26  Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Luk_9:8  others that Elijah had appeared, and still others that one of the prophets of long ago had come back to life.

Luk_9:19  They replied, "Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life."
